This magnifier option is prefered in times when a client wants to examine something for a longer duration, and in situations where a client is not able to hold a handheld magnifier. It is meant to rest and glide on top of whatever flat reading surface. The head is interchangable, which is helpful should it break or if the user requires a stronger magnification in the future. The lightbulb found on the handle is also easily changed out.
